Whitsundays Day 3

On our last day we sailed to sandbar that is mostly covered at high tide. When the tide goes out, you can walk along the sand bar to an adjoining island. Matt told us that this is where many turtles and baby sharks hang out. We spent a good part of the morning snorkelling looking for turtles. Unfortunately we didn't get to see any but we got to see a lot of fish and coral. I saw an anemone that had a clown fish coming out that darted back in when I swam by! It was pretty awesome.

When we came in from swimming, we walked along the sand bar to the island and explored. Mike and Brenden climbed on some of the rocks while Laura and I looked at shells. Somebody had left some coral and shells that looked like a face by the rocks. It was pretty cute.

That was our last stop since we went over our time. We then sailed back to Airlie beach. We had a great wind and the boat was leaning pretty good. We were inclined about 30-40 degrees. We had to sit on the walls and windows from the cabin to keep from falling off. It was great. Mike loved the whole experience and was pumped to have been able to hoist the main sail. We went for dinner with Craig, Brenden and Laura to say good bye before we caught the greyhound to Cairns.
