Kangaroo Island day 2

We had a great breakfast at the beautiful farm. I walked out to see the alpacas on the farm and got to see some kangaroos off in the field. We then packed up and headed back onto the road to Flinders Chase anational Park to a rock formation called the Remarkable Rocks. They were very cool and great to explore. The group wandered around and then we proceeded to take group photos on the rock and had a different pose for each camera. It was quite hilarious and we had a lot of fun. We were at the most southern point of the island, only 5000km from the Antarctic.

After this we drove to another area where we did a shirt walk along the bluffs and got to see some vegetation in the area. We walked to a beautiful lighthouse and then down to the Admirals arch to see the New Zealand Fur seals and pups. On our walk down, we got to see a humpback whale jump out of the water. It was amazing! When we got down the cliff side, there were tons of seals sunning themselves on the rocks and pups playing together. We spent a good length of time here, getting to watch the seals. When we were driving throug the park, we got to see a tiger snake slither across the road as well as an echidna. We actually stopped and ran into the bushes to try and see the echidna better.

Afterwards we went to have lunch. We stopped at a beautiful bay where we walked to the beach while Sandy got lunch ready. Mike, Ross and Sam went for a swim in the southern ocean and I stuck me feet in. I was so excited to have been in a different ocean and knowing it is the same oceans that penguins swim in :). It wasn't too cold either which was nice. We then had a nice lunch and Sandy lit a bunch of tea lights for my birthday and everyone sang to me.

We then drove to a honey farm after lunch and a eucalyptus distillery. The distillery was closed unfortunately but we got to see a mob of kangaroos with a huge male and a mama with a Joey in her pouch. At the honey farm we got to taste test different honeys and I tried a sip of honey mead for the first time. We also had honey ice cream which was fantastic. We then headed back to the ferry to go back to Adelaide. The trip was absolutely wonderful and one of the best birthdays ever
