Kurow and the Elephant Rocks

During one of my weekends off, I went to Oamaru to hang out with Brittney and Amy. We went on a short hike in Kurow and had an amazing view from the top of the hill we hiked. It was an easy climb and was quite beautiful. After our hike we managed to check out some limestone rocks with Maori rock paintings.

We then went to the elephant rocks which are massive boulders in the middle of some farmer's field. The site was used for the filming of the lion, the witch and the wardrobe. The place was quite surreal. The giant boulders amongst the emerald green rolling hills felt like something out of a movie or dream. It was quite fun to explore the area and climb on the rocks. They even had a castle left over from filming we got to check out.

After our Oamaru adventures, we went back to Dunedin for a night out with Alice. It was my first glimpse at kiwi night life. We went exploring Dunedin the next day and checked out the Cadbury chocolate factory. We got to watch a chocolate waterfall after a short tour through the factory and learning about the history of chocolate. We also got to eat a lot of chocolate.

We then went to Baldwin street which is the worlds steepest street. It was crazy how steep it was and I didn't dare attempt to drive up it. We did walk up it half way and took some goofy pictures of ourselves. It was a great sight seeing and girls weekend.
