Melbourne Art Gallery

We spent our last afternoon in Melbourne at the art gallery. It was absolutely amazing. We were there for 3 hours and still didn't see everything. It was such an experience to see paintings of that scale and detail. I have never seen anything like it before. Some of them were so massive and very detailed. The time, patience and skill needed would have been astounding. The clothes of the people looked like you could reach out and actually feel it, the landscapes looked like you could just walk into them. There was one giant room full of statutes and massive paintings covering the walls. I could of easily spent 1-2 hours in there just taking in everything.

Two major highlights for me was getting to see actual Picasso and Magritte paintings! Two of my favourite artists. Also, in the entire there was a beautiful turquoise pool full of ceramic bowls. There was a slight current causing the bowls to move and make chiming sounds. It was very peaceful and quite beautiful.
