Otago Peninsula

On one of my weekends off, I went exploring around Dunedin. Across from where I was living, on the other side of the harbour is the Otago Penisula. It was wonderful to drive along. Switch back roads right beside the ocean. It was so beautiful. I had to pull over quite a few times to take pictures and to just stop and admire the beauty. I drove all the way to the end where there is a large wild life reserve with albatross nests. I didn't get a chance to see them but I saw some other birds and beautiful scenery.

After the end of the Penisula, I drove across to the other side to a beach I had found on google, called Alan's beach. It was at the end of a long dirt road and you had to walk through a farmers field to get to the beach. It was worth the adventure to get there. There was only a few other people there and quite a few sea lions. It was a beautiful walk to the end of the beach where there were green rolling hills and sheep. It felt like a fairy tail. The grass was so green and the one tree looked like fairies should be living in it. I just fell in love with the beach and came back a few more times to read and get some sun.
